Memphis Smoked Spare Ribs Recipe

Memphis is a big barbecue town, and this Memphis Smoked Pork Spare Ribs Recipe is a big hit.

The recipe is brought to you from the Memphis-In-May Barbecue Contest.

These mouthwatering pork spare ribs will leave you and your guests begging for more. Cooked low and slow these down home ribs are tender and packed with flavor. We love the melt in your mouth meat combined with a succulent outer crust.

The secret to these award winning ribs are the “three flavor layers.” That’s right, three layers of flavor.

Preheat you smoker to 225 degrees. Rub dry the rub mix on both sides of skinned ribs. Place meat on the grates, bone side down. Cook ribs 1-1/2 to 2 hours, without turning, before using basting sauce. Smoke for 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours, basting every 45 minutes to one hour. Serve with Wet Finishing sauce on the side, or baste with the sauce during the last 1/2 hour of cooking.

We like to let the ribs set a while in a “tin foil tent” for about 20 minutes before serving.
